Zendaya Experiences Racial Profiling While Shopping — "This is What We Deal With"

Zendaya alleges she was the victim of racism, after trying to buy gift cards and being denied by the store clerk because of her "skin tone."

"The lady that was helping us... I don't think she was a huge fan of our skin tone," she said alongside her friend in the video. "In fact, I recall her not trying to help us at all, saying we couldn't buy the gift cards and then throwing my wallet."

The 20-year-old continued, "I just can't make this s--t up. This is what we deal with."

A manager was eventually able to help Zendaya with her purchase, and the Spiderman: Homecomingactress used the experience as a lesson for her followers.

"Long story short, there's so much progress to be done in our world," Zendaya said.
