Amanda Bynes, Dylan and Cole Sprouse and 8 More Stars Who Left Hollywood for Regular Jobs

Dylan and Cole Sprouse: College Kids/One's a Waiter

How You Know Them: You probably “aww”-ed to death watching them opposite Adam Sandler in 1999’sBig Daddy. Cole also played Ross Geller’s (David Schwimmer) son, Ben, on Friends. The pair catapulted to fame when they nabbed their own Disney show, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, in 2005.
What Are They Up to Now?: The handsome 22-year-old fellas just graduated from New York University. Dylan is also a waiter.

Edward “Teddy” Dunn: Lawyer

How You Know Him: Duncan Cane in Veronica Mars — duh!
What’s He Up to Now?: He left the show halfway through season 2 and decided to give up Hollywood for education. He became a lawyer after graduating Boston College Law School in 2013.

Rene Russo: Dairy Farmer (and Now Back on the Hollywood Scene...for Now)

How You Know Her: "Ransom," "Outbreak," "Major League" — just to name a few. She was basically one of the "It" women of the '90s.
What’s She Up to Now?: The now 60-year-old walked away from Tinsel Town after filming "Yours, Mine & Ours" and "Two for the Money" in 2004 and 2005 — and decided to start a dairy company! "I have 40 cows!" she tells Wenn. "It's right outside of Buffalo and I have this friend who used to be a farmer and this incredible chef and he came to Christmas with this amazing milk and yogurt and I said, 'You made this? You could sell this!'"
Rene made her return to films in 2011 when she signed on to play Thor's mom in the superhero flick. She's currently starring alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in "Nightcrawler," but insists she'll leave Hollywood again if nothing else exciting comes her way. "'Nightcrawler' was a killer role," she said. "I could not have said 'no' to this. I don't know if there is another role that I feel excited about doing. I just take it one day at a time. If not, I'll go milk my cows!"

Nicole Eggert: Professional Ice Cream Scooper

How You Know Her: Every girl wanted to be her best friend when she starred as the super popular Jamie Powell in Charles in Charge. And then she made the fellas drool when she slipped into the famous red swimsuit for her role as Summer Quinn in Baywatch.
What’s She Up to Now?: These days, 42-year-old Nicole’s traded in her bathing suit for a sweet uniform. The mother-of-two runs an ice cream mobile truck called Scoops

Michael Schoeffling: Woodshop Owner

How You Know Him: Need we even say it? JAKE RYAN in 1984’s Sixteen Candles. We still get shivers down our spine just from writing that beautiful name.
What’s He Up to Now?: We couldn’t find a recent photo of the 53-year-old who’s likely still a babe. Since retiring from Hollywood in 1991, he’s owned a woodworking shop. Jake Ryan building things while sweating. Now there’s a heart-stopping visual.

Mara Wilson: Writer

How You Know Her: “We’re his goddamn kids, too!” The line she so adorably said in 1993’s Mrs. Doubtfire. Mara went on to star in classic ‘90s flicks such as Miracle on 34th Street and Matilda.
What’s She Up to Now?: First of all, she’s 27. Let that sink in for a sec. When you’re done feeling old, you’ll be pleased to know Mara’s happily living in NYC as a writer.

Kevin Jonas: Contractor...?

How You Know Him: He’s the oldest Jonas Brother!
What’s He Up to Now?: Unlike his younger brother Nick (who has no problem dropping his pants these days), Kevin has opted to go a different route. After the group broke up for good last year, the married father-of-one tried his hand at contracting and even appeared on an episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey this season. “Now I’m doing this,” he said about his new passion.

Jeff Cohen: Lawyer

How You Know Him: Chunk! Truffle Shuffle! Goonies!
What’s He Up to Now?: After starring in one of the biggest ‘80s movies, Jeff had some work here and there. But after he hit puberty, he was forced into early retirement and became a lawyer! In 2002, he co-founded the law firm Cohen Gardner. Check out the 40-year-old’s fancy schmancy profile

Phoebe Cates: Boutique Shop Owner

How You Know Her: She was every dude’s fantasy after filming that scene in 1982’s Fast Times at Ridgemont High, but we fondly remember her as the one and only Lizzie in Drop Dead Fred nearly 10 years later. Cobwebs!
What’s She Up to Now?: The 51-year-old retired from acting in 1994 in order to raise her children (she has two with her husband, actor Kevin Kline). In 2005, she opened her own boutique, Blue Tree, in NYC.
