Health News: Bruce Springsteen Gets Candid About His Long Battle With Depression

Bruce Springsteen is putting his mental health issues all on the table.
In a new interview, The Boss candidly opened up about his long battle with depression. "I was crushed between 60 and 62, good for a year and out again from 63 to 64," the 66-year-old star admitted to Vanity Fair. "Not a good record."

The "Born in the USA" singer additionally revealed he was afraid he'd end up like his dad, who battled alcoholism and mental illness before he died in 1998. "You don't know the illness's parameters," Bruce added. "Can I get sick enough to where I become a lot more like my father than I thought I might?"
Luckily his wife of 25 years, Patti Scialfa, has been there for him through the difficult times. "She gets me to the doctors and says, 'This man needs a pill,'" he concluded.
